In the fall of 2025, we extended a thank you to MSNow, Rachel Maddow & her podcast, “Burn Order,” co-written by Michael Yarvitz, for sharing the important history of Executive Order 9066, suppressed evidence, historical lessons of the Japanese American Incarceration, and civil rights icons like Mitsuye Endo Tsutsumi, Gordon Hirabayashi, Minoru Yasui, and Fred Korematsu, who stood up for the Constitution and our civil liberties. 

So we were pleased to record a conversation with Dr. Karen Korematsu and MSNow’s “Burn Order” Executive Producer and Co-Writer, Michael Yarvitz, in honor of the 15th Fred Korematsu Day in California. The conversation about the podcast, the power of education, and the work ahead streams on what would have been Fred Korematsu’s 107th birthday, Friday, January 30.
